 Hip Hop Dance Master Class

Lead by the internationally acclaimed and award winning dancer, Eric Borketey Ansuade of Ghana- this offering will deepen your understanding of Hip Hop Dance and showcase some of the modern innovations of the art form.  From Africa to America- the influence of African music and dance cannot be denied.  Through the trans Atlantic slave trade the undying spirit of African culture survived, thrived and evolved to encompass elements of cultures from around the world in highly expressive mediums such as jazz, blues, r&b, swing and… that’s right- hip hop.  Hip hop is a cultural phenomenon that has launched itself from the shores of America and on to the world stage.  Returning to it’s roots via the trans Atlantic information trade, hip hop communities in West Africa have begun to push the boundaries of the art form- giving birth to popular new styles like Hi Life and Azonto in Ghana, West Africa.  Eric’s outstanding talents in traditional realms of African dance, Hip Hop, Hi Life, Acrobatics and Circus Performance lend to making this class a truly unique and inspiring dance experience.
